The Thread Continues…
There are moments in life when we can look back and see how the threads were being woven long before we understood the pattern.
For many years, I had the privilege of serving behind the chair as Hair by Sophia. What began as a career in beauty became so much more. The salon was never just about hair. It was a place where stories were shared, tears were shed, dreams were spoken aloud, and friendships were formed.
Through every appointment, life unfolded.
We celebrated marriages, babies, promotions, graduations, and fresh starts. We navigated grief, heartbreak, uncertainty, and change. What I came to realize is that my favorite part was never simply creating beautiful hair—it was creating space.
A space where people could exhale.
A space where people could be seen.
A space where people could simply be themselves.
Looking back now, I can see that those years were preparing me for the work I am doing today.
Beneath the surface, another thread was quietly calling me forward.
The thread of yoga.
The thread of mindfulness.
The thread of sound.
The thread of poetry.
The thread of coming home to myself.
That thread eventually became Threads by ZenSetter.
Many of you may remember the ZenSetter boxes I created years ago. At the time, I thought I was simply sharing things that inspired me. Looking back, I realize those boxes were some of the very first expressions of what Threads by ZenSetter would one day become.
What began as a small idea has grown into a path of study, practice, and service. Over the last several years, I have completed yoga teacher training, Yin and Restorative Yoga certifications, breathwork facilitation training, and sound healing studies. Each experience has deepened my understanding that healing is not about fixing ourselves.
It is about remembering that we were never broken.
This journey has also led me to become an author.
Earlier this month, I released my first poetry collection, Blue Sky Mind. The poems within its pages were written over many years and reflect lessons learned through motherhood, marriage, loss, growth, yoga, music, and the everyday moments that shape us. The title comes from a simple reminder that has carried me through many seasons:
Beyond every passing cloud, there is always blue sky.
Today, I continue to follow where these threads are leading.
I am currently searching for a home studio where I can begin offering yoga classes, sound baths, workshops, and community gatherings. My hope is to create spaces where people can slow down, reconnect, and remember the wisdom that already exists within them.
While my role has changed, my heart remains the same.
I still believe in connection.
I still believe in community.
I still believe in creating spaces where people feel welcomed, supported, and inspired.
Whether you knew me as Hair by Sophia, purchased a ZenSetter box, followed along through my yoga journey, or have just recently found your way here, I am grateful you are part of this story.
The thread continues.
And I can't wait to see where it leads next.
With gratitude,
Sophia Musto
